The 2010 ICA Capitol Hill Walk will be held on Thursday, March 25, 2010 from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.  in Washington, D.C.  Thanks to the ICA for sending out the following information:

Calling all IC patients, caregivers, healthcare providers, and researchers! Come to Washington and help Congress understand how IC affects your lives. Educate our leaders on the challenges of treating patients with chronic pain conditions like IC. Explain to policymakers the need for dedicated research dollars. Let’s rally and march together on Washington to help conquer IC and change lives!

As a part of the 2010 Capitol Hill Walk, participants will visit members of the House and Senate to discuss upcoming policies and the need for additional research and funding surrounding the treatment of IC. The day will kick off at 8am with an IC-friendly breakfast and short briefing about the day, including tips on how to best approach lawmakers. The day will wrap up around 4:30pm with an end of day gathering to share your experiences from your Congressional visits.

If you would like to take part in the ICA Capitol Hill Walk, you will need to email the ICA Association at icamail@ichelp.org and provide them with the following info:

  • Full name
  • Whether you are an IC patient, a healthcare provider, IC caregiver or have a family member/loved one with IC
  • Your full address including your 9 digit zip code.

If you can’t attend the D.C. event but would still like to participate somehow, you can send an email at the address above and put “Hometown visit” in the subject.  The ICA will try to set up a visit with officials in your hometown.
