Weight Loss Update: 40 Pounds Gone!

I’m excited to announce that I have now lost about 40 pounds since June 20th and I have FINALLY found a diet program that is actually working for me.   Ever since my son was born 9 years ago, I have tried NutriSystem, Weight Watchers, LA Weight Loss, Alli, and countless other diets and have spent more money than I care to add up trying to shed the extra weight but nothing would work.  I would lose 10 – 15 pounds and then my body would stop losing weight.   The hypothyroidism, ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia didn’t make the weight loss any easier, either.

I think the combination of being put on the right thyroid medication in June and with the Medifast diet that I started, I finally got what my body needed to continue losing weight and not stop after a few pounds.  I am starting to plateau now but I only have about 23 pounds to go and I am building muscle from working out.  That is making a huge difference right now also.  What is nice about this program is that when my weight loss plateaus, my body continues to lose inches so I’m still getting ahead and I’m still losing.  I just have to be extra careful with my workouts and make sure I don’t do too much and cause a flare.

My goal is to have the rest of this weight off by the first of the year so I will keep everyone updated and I will also post pictures once I’ve reached my goal!

Sue – Very carefully – that’s how! LOL I can’t do a lot but the little I am able to do has made a huge difference. I will never be able to work out 3, 4, and 5 times a week like normal people and I can’t even try to do that. But just once or twice a week with some resistance training has been really helpful. I have found that if I stick with doing routines that don’t involve cardio, I have a less chance of flaring. It’s all been trial and error but I’ve been determined to somehow fit exercise into a CFS & Fibro life.
