I actually created this post on Sunday morning at about 5:00 a.m. I have been awake all night and haven’t slept a wink. I had to get out of bed because I couldn’t lay any longer. I am so exhausted but I just can’t sleep. Something else is going on with my bladder, too. I keep having this constant urge to urinate, but when I go to the bathroom, I just dribble. This is not like me at all. Even with my Interstitial Cystitis, my several trips to the bathroom each night produce a good amount of urine. All night I have had to force and push hard to get the urine to come out, even though it feels like I’m going to pee myself. I am having some sharp pains in my abdomen too.

The past week I have been up most nights. I counted up last week that I got the amount of sleep in three to fournights that I should get in one. I sleep some during the day but not enough to make me stay up all night. I believe another flare is here. Sleeping pills aren’t even working. My body is begging for sleep, but it just doesn’t come. When I do fall asleep, I jerk awake shortly after.

As I write this, I realize I only have about three hours until I have to get up for church and I don’t want to miss again this week. I missed last Sunday because of my lack of sleep.

Along with not sleeping over this last week, I also had the stomach bug that has been going around. With the way my immune system is, it always takes longer to recover and even though I’m not throwing up or having diarrhea anymore, my body is wore out from all of that. Yesterday I wasn’t able to do much of anything except watch television and rest.

My husband is wonderful and he took our son away for the day so that I could rest. I would be lost without his support and understanding.

If this post sounds mostly like rambling, it’s because I’m exhausted. I’m going to go back and try to lie down again until it’s time to get ready for church. I need the prayer, that’s for sure!

Wow! I’m so sorry Sandy you have been feeling terrible. It sounds like you have an urinary tract infection or bladder infection. I have been fighting the cough for over two weeks now and with my asthma is just makes it worse so I can relate to the not getting any sleep.

I hope you’re feeling more like yourself soon. Take care of yourself and try and get some much needed rest and sleep.

Thanks, Sophia! The thing with my bladder stopped, so it must have been the IC acting up in a different way this time. Thanks for the comment! I entered your name for the contest!
