If Only You Had A Positive Attitude…

you would not be sick!  How many times have we heard this?  Why is it that people assume that because you are ill, you have a negative attitude toward life and that you are making yourself sick?  I don’t get it.  I know that I do not have a negative attitude – I work very hard at doing things to keep me positive.  This is another one of those things that people say that they just do not realize is ignorant.

I do believe in having a positive attitude and I fully believe that your attitude does affect your health.  But having a positive attitude is not a complete cure in and of itself.

I try to use my illnesses in a positive way.  It is not a positive situation being sick all of the time, but I believe I am this way for a purpose – to help others.

My personal fav, from a relative of mine: “you just don’t want to pay your student loans.” I agree though, that a positive attitude is critical to surviving this illness. But if that’s all it took to cure this or any other illness the pharma companies would be out of business.

    Hello FF:

IMO, a positive attitude is what helps you get through trying times such as these; it illuminates from your faith that God will use you and your circumstances for the good of others. It is not a cure. If it was, Christ would not have died. You have to be very realistic about what is going on in your life but how you rise to the occassion is based on your attitude; is the glass half empty or half full?

Your blog shows others that you are not going to let this “negative” circumstance in your life keep you from having a “positive” influence on the world. Keep it up!

    Shabby 🙂

Shabby, Thank you so much! That is how I deal with what I have to go through – by believing that there is a better reason for it. That is the best way I know how to cope and to get through each day. I do want to help others by getting the word out. If I share my story, and don’t hold back, then others can see what it is like. Take care!
