Fibromyalgia AWARE Magazines Available at CVS

Fibromyalgia has really come a long way…two drugs approved by the FDA to treat the illness and now a FM magazine is available at your local CVS Pharmacy.

Fibromyalgia AWARE, which is the only consumerFibromyalgia magazine available and published by the NFA, is now being distributed in more than 6,000 CVS stores across the United States.

Lynne Matallana, president and founder of the NFA, had this to say about the distribution of their magazine:

Many people who suffer from fibromyalgia feel isolated and hopeless. The availability of Fibromyalgia AWARE in such a high-traffic retail outlet allows us to reach out to people who might not know about the resources that the NFA provides to help people with this life-altering disorder.

Distribution was set to begin immediately at CVS stores at the time this information was released at the beginning of October with Volume 17, which features Dr. Robert Bennett, one of fibromyalgias foremost researchers.

Other featured stories in Volume 17:

  • The Role of Glia Cells in Pathological Pain
  • Prayer and Health
  • Is Marijuana the Answer for FM?
  • The Osteopathy Option
  • Headaches and Fibromyalgia
  • Physical Activity: To Do or Not To Do
  • Get Results From Your Insurance Company

The cost for the quarterly magazine in the U.S. is $9.95; in Canada the cost is $10.95. Make sure you pick up your copy today!

I would like to get a copy of Fibro Aware Magazine which are available at CVS pharmacys. I do not have a CVS anywhere nearby – we are surrounded by Walgreens who I think do not carry this publication.

Is there a way to subscribe to the magazine by mail?

Would appreciate any info you can give me.
    With thanks,
    C. Hill

Hi there, Check with the National Fibromyalgia Association website at http://www.fmaware.org. You can probably get a copy online.

Hi Brenda, Maybe try contacting your local CVS stores to see if they would be willing to carry the magazine or contact the NFA and find out how the magazine can be put into your local CVS store.
