The FDA has issued a list of 10 prescription drugs that consumers should not purchase online. The FDA says these drugs can be very dangerous if taken without medical supervision. The warning from the FDA came after several concerns being made regarding online pharmacies. The list includes:
Accutane – an oral acne medication
Actiq – an oral lozenge for cancer pain that is severe
Clozaril – schizophrenia medication
Lotronex – used by women who suffer from severe IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome)
Mifeprex – RU-486 pill – this drug is taken to terminate an early pregnancy
Thalomid – this medication is used to treat leprosy and other skin diseases
Tikosyn – this medication is used for maintenance of normal heart rhythms
Tracleer – this medication is used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension
Trovan – used to treat severe infections – can be taken orally or injected
Xyrem – this medication is used to treat muscle problems in narcoleptic patients
