This season’s Biggest Loser winner, Erik Chopin, lost 214 pounds while competing for his title on NBC’s popular show.  Erik was about to have gastric bypass surgery before he was chosen as a candidate on the “Biggest Loser”.

Erik Chopin said that he felt hopeless and thought that the weight loss surgery was a last resort for him.  Erik owns a deli in West Islip, New York and has a family.  On the finale of “Biggest Loser”, Erik weighed in at 193 pounds and received the grand prize of $250,000!  In a newspaper interview, Erik said, “It was the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life.  But it’s just so rewarding.  I’m getting paid now for something I needed to do.  You know, I needed to get healthy.”
