Abnormal Mitochondria Function

What do you know about mitochondria functioning? Well, there have been several studies that have shown that there is mitochondrial dysfunction in CFIDS and FM.

Mitochondria are the “energy factories for the cells where sugar is burned and energy is produced in the form of ATP(adenosine-triphosphate)”.

So from what I understand, when the mitochondria are not functioning correctly the cells and tissues of the body are starved for energy. This abnormality may be the common endpoint for all the dysfunctions present in CFIDS and FM.

Sugar is not burned, which causes weight gain, no energy is produced which results in fatigue, muscle pain, poor concentration, IBS, headaches, and much more.

I have been on different supplements over the past year to enhance the mitochondria; however, I have not seen much energy improvement. The doctor says I am a “very complex case”.
