The CFIDS Association of America has on their website a list of 10 ways that we can all be a part in making CFIDS history. Here is a list of the top 10 ways that you can help conquer CFIDS:
10 Create your own MyCause CFS webpage. Make your own pledge first, and then ask your friends to join you in supporting your cause. Click here for easy step-by-step instructions to the hottest trend in philanthropy online giving.
9 Exercise your citizenship by attending Lobby Day in Washington, D.C., May 14-15. Show members of Congress the human face of CFS. Click here for more details.
8 Exercise your citizenship again! Sign up for the Grassroots Action Center and receive notices that make it easy to speak out to legislators, media and public policy officials. Make your voice heard on health policy issues that affect you. Click here.
7 Advise your health care professional that free information on diagnosing and managing CFS is available through the CFS Provider Education Project, a collaborative effort between the CFIDS Association and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. 6 Attend a kNOw MORE CFS seminar, where you can learn from the nation’s CFS medical experts. These education and empowerment sessions are offered periodically across the country. Watch future issues of CFIDSLink to find out when one will take place near you.
5 Join the CFIDS Association. Membership entitles you to useful benefits, not the least of which is the quarterly CFIDS Chronicle, one of the nation’s most trusted sources of information on this illness. Click here to learn more about becoming a member.
4 Ask your employer or spouse’s employer about matching your personal gift to the Association. Many companies offer to match contributions to charitable organizations effectively doubling the gift you are able to give.
3 Donate gifts of stock, mutual funds or real estate. Call Emily Hedrick, Director of Development, at 704-364-0016, ext. 101, for details.
2 Include the CFIDS Association in your will and estate plans. Consult your lawyer or financial adviser to find the best ways to save money on taxes while providing for your family and continuing the fight to conquer CFS.
