Son’s Birthday This Week

Today I have started preparing for my son’s birthday party this weekend.  I know – most healthy people can start a couple of days before and get everything ready, but not me!  I started cleaning the house today, slowly.  In the past 3 1/2 hours I was only able to get the kitchen, dining room, and living room cleaned.   Usually when I clean I work on one room a day, but time does not allot for that this week.

People take their good health for granted.  They don’t have to think about how much they do in a day, or how it will affect them.  They can just do it and go.

I had to continually take breaks.  Before my illness became this severe, I was able to get my whole house done in less time then what it took me today to just do three rooms!

Tomorrow I hope to work on a couple of more rooms.

Hey there! Sandy, I’m healthy and I have a hard time getting 3 rooms clean in 3 1/2 hours! I’m lucky if I get one room and a load of laundry done every day! Kuddos to you! Happy Birthday to your son! I usually have birthday parties OUT, especially saves ME from the preparation and the cleanup, LOL!

Hi Cassandra! How are you doing? This is only the 2nd time that I have had a party at my house. We were planning on having it outside and doing a cookout, but there is a cold front coming through this weekend so it looks like we’re going to be inside.

I can relate! Birthday parties are always tough weeks for me. Even if you can’t afford a cleaning service all the time, you should splurge on one for occasions like this. When I left my job in 2000, we stopped using a cleaning service, but after I got CFIDS (and struggled for awhile), we realized this was something that was now a necessity. We are very fortunate to have a wonderful local service with reasonable rates that comes every two weeks. Good luck this week – hope the party goes well! How old is your son? Mine are 8 and 12.

Hi Sue! My son will be 5. My mom came and helped a lot with housecleaning before, but she went back to work so I haven’t found anyone else yet.
