My husband and I took my parents out of town for the weekend. We wanted to do something for them to show them how much we appreciate everything that they do for us. If it were not for my parents, I don’t know what we would do sometimes.
They are always there for us to help us through everything and my mom is always willing to give up her own time doing what she wants to do in order to help us with our son, or just whatever we need. It is very difficult for me to have to ask my parents for help, but sometimes we just have no other choice.
Between my husband’s poor health, and my own, we are not always able to take care of housework, our son, and just ordinary household chores and outside work. So we always try to show our appreciation to my parents somehow and this time, we wanted to take them to one of the places we enjoy going the most – Lancaster, PA. There is so much to do there and it is not a very long drive and is one I can handle pretty well most of the time.
I did forget to take my sleeping pills, though and I had two terrible nights of insomnia. I was unable to do much walking both days while we were gone and my parents, who are 59 and 65, did not have to sit down and take breaks, but I did. I would tire extremely quickly but we still had a great time.
I found a great place in Blue Ball, PA called the Flower and Craft Warehouse that has a huge room full of scrapbooking supplies and I was in heaven! I LOVE this store and I found lots of great items there to purchase! I had to really control myself though and not go too crazy! Finances are really tight since I am unable to work and hubby has been off due to his heart attack. All in all, it was nice to get away from home and have a weekend without our son in tow!
