Is laziness a disability?

Editor:

As we enter the holiday shopping season, I am amazed by the number of people who use handicapped parking placards to park in the designated spaces but show no signs of any physical disability.

I was always under the impression that the spaces were reserved for people with mobility problems, yet many times I have seen healthy, robust, young people pull into the spaces, slide the placard onto the mirror, then quickly rush into the store to do their shopping.

Perhaps they rush to avoid questions from truly disabled people who are forced to park at the outer edges of the lot.

Or is laziness now considered a disability?
