Interstitial Cystitis and CFS/Fibromyalgia

According to some medical journal articles, 24.6% of I.C. patients show symptoms of Fibromyalgia, compared to 3.2% of the general population.  The theory is that “I.C. might be a disease within the spectrum of chronic fatigue and pain syndromes”.

My urologist believes this to be true.  He said that a large percentage of his I.C. patients have Fibromyalgia, CFS, or both.

ImmuneSupport.com says that about every 15 seconds someone is diagnosed with Interstitial Cystitis.  Studies have also shown that I.C. may be hereditary and passed down from one generation to the next.  As far as I know, I am the only one in my family with I.C.
