Fibromyalgia and Fatigue Centers

Last year, in a desperate attempt to find help with my severe CFS and FM, I did a search online and found out about the Fibromyalgia and Fatigue Centers (www.fibroandfatigue.com). These centers, which I believe there are now 13 or 14 nationwide, deal specifically with CFIDS, Fibromyalgia, and hormonal issues.

I have finally found somewhere to go where the doctors and staff truly believe that I am sick and they don’t just tell me, “You just have to learn to live with it”. The staff at F & F are extremely helpful, courteous, empathetic, and wonderful!

These doctors are trained in giving in depth blood work (my first trip the lab took 31 tubes of blood!) and I was with the doctor on my first visit for over an hour! Yes, that is correct. OVER ONE HOUR!!

The centers use conventional, along with some “natural” type approaches to treat which include supplements, IV therapy, compounded prescriptions, food allergy testing, etc.

The F & F Centers have found that the large majority of CFS and FM patients have hypothyroidism and other hormonal deficiencies. I know for me I was having severe hormonal issues, but when my family doctor and other specialists checked, my hormone panels were “normal”. I kept going back though because I knew they weren’t. But the F & F doctors are trained specifically to do TSH, T3 & T4 panels and they have found that CFIDS and FM patients do not adequately convert T4 to the active T3, which results in low levels of active thyroid hormone and will have low thyroid despite having a normal TSH.

The Fibromyalgia and Fatigue Centers also have a store site where you can purchase their supplements that they offer (www.fibroandfatigue.com/store). I recommend these centers to anyone suffering. It does cost to go, but the cost is so worth it.

We went to the Center in the Denver Area 10 years ago. They found many of the symptoms but failed to uncover the cause of ALL OF THESE MANY SYMPTOMS. This condition which my children and I suffered from is ONLY ABOUT THE HYPER-VIGILANT IMMUNE SYSTEM RESPONSE. I am sure you cannot find one of these centers because they were a total failure. I did, however use the objective findings of the many tests to connect the dots. ALL of your Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia problems can be cured forever with the NAET treatment. Look it up and find a NAET provider near to you. My bedridden son, ages 9 – 14, is now a normal, healthy, happy and successful 25-year old.

This may not be the same for you, but my CFS/ FM was found to be caused by mold sensitivity.
You might want to check survivingmold.com for their national physicians list. I started getting slowly getting better after my visit with physician DiTulio in early spring of 2015. I had been largely dependent on a wheel chair for approximately 7 years and became fully ambulatory by December of that year.
      Best of luck to you.

      Hi Kati,

I came across Dr. Teitelbaum’s protocol (endfatigue.com) & though I haven’t been doing it for long, I have found it to be very helpful. I’ve dealt with CFS since 2001 & made enough progress to work part time but recently had a relapse. I found out about him through my mom who found one of his books on Amazon. He really understand CFS/FM & I think you will find his website very helpful. He also has an online diagnostic tool since, as you well know, it is hard to find competent CFS drs. Hope that helps.

Hello Everyone, The Fibromyalgia and Fatigue Centers don’t exist anymore. I’ve been dealing with CFS for a long time and late 2017 I discovered Dr Jacob Teitelbaum’s book From Fatigue to Fantastic (he also publish and shorter, updated version of this book). In his website he has a list of doctors who he trained. From what I understand he was the medical director of these centers. They wen’t bankrupt not becuase the treatment didn’t work but because they made some bad financial decisions. I’m currently being treated by Dr Karen Bullington in Atlanta, GA. She was part of these centers. You can also look up holtorfmed.com They are experts in this field.
