Don’t Forget This Is Invisible Illness Awareness Month!

Just a reminder that September is Invisible Awareness Month and for those out there suffering from invisible chronic illness, you have validation through this awareness.  National Invisible Illness Awareness Week is September 8th through the 14th and it is sponsored by Rest Ministries, the largest Christian organization that serves the chronically ill.

All through the month of September make sure you stop by the Invisible Illness Awareness Blog and read posts devoted to invisible chronic illness. For those of you who have a chronic illness, you can be a guest blogger on the site and tell your story of chronic illness. Just visit the site and search for the contact link to submit your information.
The focal point of the awareness campaign is September 8-12 (M-F) during which 20 telephone seminars will be held on a variety of topics and are open to anyone. Topics may also be of interest to those with loved-ones who have an illness. Some seminars include:

  • Assess Yourself: Find the Job You Desire and Can Do Despite Illness Limitations
  • The Civil Rights of Patients with Invisible Chronic Illnesses
  • Overcoming Self-Defeating Behaviors
  • Secrets of Paying for Medical Care
  • How to Get Paid to Blog
  • After the Diagnosis: The Journey Beyond

Make sure you do something to help raise awareness for the many invisible chronic illnesses out there!
