My online buddy, Laura, who writes on the CFS Squared blog, wrote an interesting post the other day on collidial silver and how it turned a man blue. Look above at the picture of this man – he used collidial silver to treat his severe case of dermatitis. Paul Karason started using collidial silver to treat his condition. Collidial silver is made by extracting silver from metal. Karason drank the silver (no wonder why he’s blue!) and rubbed it on his skin and as a result, he started turning blue. Karason has not seeked medical attention for his blue skin and he is still drinking collidial silver, but much less.
What really attracted me to this story is that I was being treated with collidial silver at the Fibro & Fatigue Centers when I began treatment there 3 years ago. For the first few months I attended the facility, I received on almost a weekly basis collidial silver treatments through IV. Then all of a sudden the centers stopped using it without really giving us patients a good explanation why.
According to the FDA, they do not consider collidial silver a safe or effective means of treatment for any illness. Taking it can have some serious side effects including:
Argyria which is an irreversible blue-gray discoloration of your skin, nails and gums
Seizures and other neurological problems
– Skin irritation
